PLAY DAY

What a beautiful day!!! I cannot believe that it is January and I am hanging out with my daughter outside in the sun!! Of course since we have all been ill the last few weeks, I have a tendency to overdress my kids regularly.

I am playing hooky from work and decided to spend the day with my beautiful child. She and I played on the swings and made twigs into characters who had conversations with each other. We pretended to be dogs, and found some toys that our real dog had chewed to bits, including the cute little giraffe that was in a previous photo. We also jumped off steps quite a bit and pretended to fly... all in all we had so much fun. Then I decided to take some pictures of her doing all of the above.

Also, Max our 95 lb Golden hung out with us, so he made it into the photos as well. I figured since I talked about him yesterday, I had better show him off since he is the most amazing and beautiful dog in the world.

I am excited to have enrolled my daughter in Preschool today so really soon, I will have childcare and school to help provide some more working hours for myself, cause as of now, I am only able to do photo sessions on the weekends!! And I need a little more time!

I am so excited for the endeavors that are ahead in Evolve Studio Photography!!! I cannot believe that I am going to Thailand and that we are actually moving forward with the non-profit and also another project is in the works that will be amazing as well (I will announce that later)!!! This will be called "Remember My Love" project

"Remember My Love" comes from a deep place in my own heart and a knowledge that when a child loses his parent to Cancer, photographs can be a link to the love that his or her parent was feeling and giving to them when they were living.

I am teaming up with the Duke hospital Raleigh to start this amazing non-profit endeavor. I will give so much more information as things progress on the project. For now, I am just so excited that we are moving forward with this idea and someone just in the right place found this passion to be so valuable to pursue the launching of the plan.

Lolli Mae

The adventure of the day was Lolli Mae.
She was the lost dog that showed up at our house today and started eating my daughter's Chick-a-fillet lunch when I set it down to get her out of the car seat.

She was so sweet and gave our golden a run for his money. Our dog who is 95 lbs is usually an alpha dog, but this little dainty dog put him in his place very quickly. Now I have to run all over creation to take down the posters my daughter and I put up all over the place.

The other great news is.... I finally got my D300!!! and we were playing last night with the 3200 ISO and I am so impressed!!! light years different than my D200.

Now I am off to my first ever Bunco get-to-gether. Thanks to Lolli Mae, I finally met the first people around my age in my neighborhood since we moved here 6 months ago...

Butterfly kisses...

A Sunny Sunday

all images copyright Kimberly Naranjo/Evolve Studio Photogrpahy 2008

It was a sunny Sunday this weekend and I met a lovely very photogenic family. You all were wonderful and so much fun! I absolutely love these pictures especially the colors and the fluffy blue gum drop hat. I know your nanny will be so proud when she sees this!

So I did it, I am officially back in action with blogging. My family is all well and I on-the-other-hand was well, yet now am developing a sinus infection!! So I will be headed to the doc again real soon.

I hear there are a lot of powerful viruses going around so be careful this year! I found out just tonight that a friend of mine is actually in the hospital because she caught a virus that spread into her joints! Please if you pray, pray for her, her name is Nicole.

I am sitting here in "my office" which is really an allocated corner in the kind of small living room we have. I promise, when we moved down here in July, while staying in one of the smallest hotel rooms in the world for 8 days, we only had a week to find a home for rent and when I walked into this place it seemed like a palace!! with ample space.

I have, however found that because we are so cramped upstairs, I am motivated to find a great home for sale instead of getting cozy here and lazy to move. I just wish I knew how to make that final decision of where to live the next 10-40 years. It is such a hard decision!!! Any suggestions would be great. We love homes with unique spaces and rooms, yet older. Even though we have been here for 6 months now, it is still so hard to make the decision on which area we want to live in.

O
h, now back to the adorable photos taken this weekend...

Like a
tidal wave, a virus has hit my house and we are all slowly recovering! So being stuck at home, I am finally able to blog today!! yeah!

Dana, your children are beautiful, and I had so much
fun photographing them last weekend. We had a beautiful day!

here are a few of those images we took.

I love the detail of your son's cute chubby legs and feet next to yours. Those are the moments that you'll definitely want to remember! How sweet.

Your children were all smiles and so much fun to photograph!! I loved the guitar!
Your baby was adorable in the basket as I guessed he would be. It was at that point that we barely made it before he fell asleep on the carpet. I was so sad that I actually was packed up and already to go! That would have been the best photo of all.

The Preschool Project...
Wow, I had a blast photographing so many beautiful children at the preschool Back at the end of November. What fun!! I tell you that I have never worked so hard and long in all my life to get those orders out before Christmas. I would have posted this a long time ago, but I am a little behind on blogging and will be making up for lost time now that I am somewhat caught up with my work and organized for the first time since we moved here in August. I have a tendency to miss the children I photograph after my sessions are over, so I am very thankful that I am photographing some of the children I met there again this month. See you soon! Hopefully we will have one of those 70 degree days in January!
