Happy Birthday Max!!!

I love to witness my daughter with all her imagination oozing out of her pours turn into a princess, a super hero and any kind of animal imaginable. Just when I think she is pretending to be a dog, she becomes a deer or a sheep or a butterfly and a dragon, I just can't keep up!

The most fun and scary thing is that her very best friend in the whole world, even though he has bit her twice for pulling skin and hair from either his back or ears... is our ever aging Sir Max-a-lot. Yes, we think that last weekend was Max's as-close-to-the-real-date birthday and this year he is 8 in human years... So we made some hot brownies and ice cream and turned some old birthday cups and some rubber bands into some cute little birthday hats and sang Happy Birthday way out of key Saturday evening.

Saturday, I helped Mckenna with her first photo session and had so much fun. I got to play and be creative and just mess around with the settings and such... fun! here is a late sneak peak of our work together for the first time...

No longer an I but a We

I would like to introduce to you McKenna Hill Proserpi

She and I met through a client of mine, thankfully so! I had been praying for the right people/person to work with this year and through McKenna's determination and her utter dedication to this field of study and her tenacity to do what it takes to be not just good but great, she has proven to me that she is willing to put in the hours and not be okay being just mediocre! Her ideas flow and are getting more creative everyday!

It has been a joy to teach her everything I know! She is so extremely dedicated that she has kept a strict schedule of teaching and practicing time each week and I am so impressed by her natural talent and her drive that we have decided to make it an official year of working together!!!

We believe since we know that God has brought us together, and we are starting to build a friendship that is so clearly unique, that we might be a good team to partner in this business and we are ready to test the waters!

This year we are going to come together as a dedicated team to capture all events as a team not really wanting recognition for any image, just as long as our clients are really blown away with their final images, we will know that our job as photographer's and artists is done.

Being almost 11 years younger than I, she brings a fresh perspective and a spunk that I might not possess anymore, although I feel 27 still I am not a spring chicken anymore!!! She also keeps me young by making me text and instant message and such... even so, when I found out my 87 year old grandparents have a new 32" flat screen tv, I feel even more behind the times!!! its all Damn Ramsey's fault, oh I mean Dave Ramsey.

Here are some of McKenna's photos from day before yesterday! I cannot take credit for a single one of these images or her natural talent or her cute little bean!!!

Snow for two days!!!!!!

Wow, what a day!!! It is so exciting to wake up to a winter wonderland this morning. The snow was falling all through the night and when my little peanuts ran into my room this morning screaming... mommy mommy mommy!!!! it snowed!!! It really snowed!!! I looked outside and immediately thought "what in the world will we wear outside"???!!! We gave all our snow things away when we moved south!!! So, rain boots it was with about six pairs of socks each, and what a time they had! We went to McKenna's for our usual Tuesday teaching time and the kids had their not-so-usual snow/movie play date.

Now we have learned that for some odd reason they have closed the schools tomorrow and our yard has a fresh layer of untainted snow just waiting for new snow angels to appear... more to post tomorrow I guess!

A Prince in his Castle

I know for a fact that Max wouldn't consider himself a Prince... but little did he know that tonight (which in my opinion he looked a little bit more like little mr riding hood) he would become one.

Your say its your birthday?... du na na na na...Its my birthday too yayah!!!

Who wouldn't love this birthday surprise at the first sign of the warmest sparkling sunshine glistening through the frozen window panes? A birthday song to mommy, accompanied by little mini presents and a wee little pretend birthday cake and tickles and smile to go with! What a blessed birthday it is today, that was all I needed to make this day perfect!

PRAISE THE LORD all over the place!!!!

I just have to send out a big thanks to the overwhelming response to the Fundraiser for The Remember My Love Project that started yesterday!!!!!

This is so exciting that you all would care so much about this project and want it to move forward!!! I think in two days I have almost raised enough money to send in the application for the 501 C 3!!! Please keep us in mind in the future as well, and keep checking the blog for the future Party we will be having! In the future we will continue to need funds to provide each of our families with a canvas print and a coffee table book of memories and some other special products. Hopefully we will also get some in-kind donations!

I just want to thank you all for such generosity!!!

And now for a helpful tip on how to make a new tasty treat for your children! Maybe I should send this one to Rachel Ray...:)

The beauty of a rainy day

Feeling really sleepy today as my sinuses are not adjusting very well to the all-over-the-place weather. My head feels like it is a balloon and about 120 lbs and I cannot breathe out of either nostril... THAT kind of annoying stuffed up nose..

So we are just here, about to paint for the fifth time and hopefully going to the store to get frames to paint pink for the bedroom. I took these images of LeeLee while she was being lazy on the sofa... I find such pure beauty in the everyday moments... can't help it, I have to get my camera out and capture the essence of youth and artistic beauty of her just lying there so peacefully.

Just now as I was writing this blog, she was being silly and putting her swimming goggles on while jumping on her bed... fun.. Never a dull moment around here!

I wish I remembered the days where my mind would take me to far away places... today I played mouse concert with my little darlin' and watched a princess rock concert after that... other things we did today, painted, drew, and watched PBS...

Through the Years (of my Film days)

I have had so much fun these past two weeks, sleeping in, staying in my jammies until 10 am... surfing facebook, making comments on my friends photos and reconnecting with them! Also, I went through boxes of old photos from elementary school through college and came up with some quite fun New Year's greetings for some good old friends that I have known now for over 29 years!!! It is hard to believe that I am that old, but time flies.

It is okay by me, because I feel like I have savoured the moments when they were good and forgiven myself and others and moved forward when things weren't so good... I have lived a life full of ups and downs for sure!

Now, being that real life is about to begin again and work starts tomorrow! (Can't stay off work forever), I wanted to share with you some photos that I have found and scanned. These images are photos I've taken with film... back in the old days... and some are photos of me through the years.

I just feel for some reason, that this year is going to take me to places that I have never been before! It has been so rewarding to look back at the old photos, kind of like reading a journal of my life to see what wonderful things God has allowed me to experience and How much I have grown and changed through the years! THESE SCANS ARE TERRIBLE QUALITY full of dust etc. because they are scanned here on my cruddy scanner and are old prints, but I still think they are fun to see! (choose to click on them and enlarge them at your own risk!)

From flopping around in the back seat of our old 1972 buick, to working with Country Music magazine and hearing a private concert from The Del McCoury Band, meeting Little Jimmy Dickens and meeting my husband, to having my first child and working on my first few weddings... and much more! It is fun to share...
