A month off, a month of clarity, a month of growth!!!

First BIG news we've had in awhile!!! We have a new logo!!! thanks to the amazing designer Kimberly Ridge.. She is so talented!!!
Hope you love it like we do, but of course we need to now grow into the coolness of this identity by having the website revised and such, it might take 9-12 months or so, but we are hoping to have our image pulled together by the end of the year for sure!! But as for now, forgive the clash of the old and new!!

(The things we have in the works):

NEED FAMILIES: I am looking for families that are making a difference in Raleigh. Please e-mail me your story or nominate someone you know is doing something in Raleigh/Durham area that is making a difference in the lives of their community or the world. WE will be doing a special photo story for several publications and the blog to encourage others with news of hope and love!!! Stay tuned! If you are sick of seeing negative news, you will love this!!!)

TAKING SOME TIME (be still and know...)

I would advise everyone I know or don't know to take a step back, take some time off, and learn about who you are and what you are wanting to do... especially since we have such a short time to make an impact on this earth...

Over the past two months, I've learned a lot about myself and have faced a lot as well. I've learned that I am here for such a time as this... and my skill is not for my own gain, but to impact where God has given them impact and to bless who God has meant to bless. I am His!!

Taking some time off for the past two months has been huge!!! I highly recommend it!!!
Plus I have had time to really play with my tools and feel like I am beginning to merge my skills and understand the direction I am headed in more clearly now.

Here are some images that we've taken in the past few weeks... so many, sorry for waiting so long to blog.. they add up!!! Enjoy! and we love to read your comments. I do have to approve the comments first, so it might take a day for them to show up.

Remember!!! WE are excited about The Mama Click, and all the wedding inquiries and weddings coming up, and especially about the Urban sessions, and Senior sessions that are happening in the next two weeks.

This weekend McKenna and I will be photographing a familiar face who is visiting from NYC.. and will be photographing more little darlings for you to see. So stay tuned!!!

The small love that is all around us. Just be still and soak it and all the light in...

So who in the world could resist taking pictures of this cute little love Bean and that sweet contageous smile!!!!! This child is so delightful that when McKenna and I are working hard, we always cannot resist stopping ever so often and photographing this basket of love. How could I resist, there is no way possible. She makes me stop and remember how lovely this age is and how loving that children are. That is why I am so excited to teach mom's out there to capture those moments that happen when we least expect it!!! I also love to watch the sparkle in McKenna's eyes when she is being loved by her bean... such a gift to see and be apart of and to be able to capture that relationship for her.

(McKenna took this one, see the love in her eyes for her mama?)

and who could resist taking a picture of someone in this light! This is why I loved this house. It is a great place for almost magical lighting during the day. Love it!!!

Remember if you have a SLR (single lens reflex) Camera and want to learn how to take fantastic pictures of your children, join us in The Mama click

What a year to capture your beauty forever...

I remember being a Senior in High school and remember feeling frumpy and not quite the hot model type... but looking back at those years, my skin was still butter soft and my body was in better shape than it ever has been since, and I wish I would have had some Senior pictures made that didn't have me perched on my elbow awkwardly on a plaster of Paris Ionic column.
I wish I wasn't sitting awkwardly on my hip with a fake smile... What about you?

Introducing a new branch to Evolve:

Evolve Seniors!!!! Spread the word!!!

We are looking for two great looking young Junior in High women to model for us and help recruit people to photograph next year. And two Junior in Highschool young men to do the same.

Plus, Big news!!!
If you have a SLR camera and want to know how to use it better... check out our new in home classes that will help you be a better photographer for your family and your lifelong memories!

This is my professional camera. I paid $1800.00 for the body and $1700 for the lens. Can you tell by looking at the photo on the right that I paid that much for my camera?

This week has been one of the fastest weeks of my entire life. Why? you ask. I have no idea. Maybe its age, or maybe it is that I have more on my calendar than hours in the day!!! I know most of you can relate!!! But for the most part, I am starting to discover that I am way harder on myself than anyone else is!

I thank you to all of you that are completely forgiving and understanding! I have been preoccupied for about a month with business development, financial planning and practicing my skills on the days I have free. My poor baby is such a great sport for being my model whenever I want to try out a new location . We do have fun playing together while we are at work.
Plus, whenever McKenna stops by I cannot resist photographing little Bean as she explores my not-so-baby-friendly house.

Big news in the next week or so!!!! WE are starting a new adventure!!!
"The Mama Click" is well underway. We would love to hear from you and anyone else that is interested in becoming a better photographer with their own SLR Camera. If you are one of those mom's who has a really nice SLR and needs to know more about how to become a better photographer of her own family and events or if you are interested in photography and are wanting to know more, Join the "Click"

Let us know if you're interested by either leaving comment under this blog post or by sending me a private message at info@evolvestudiophoto.com.

A Picnic in the Park

A beautiful picnic at the park on a beautiful warm February Day!!! Met by a good friend and a cute little baby and a warm furry Sir Max-a-lot doggie... near perfect picnic.

Love to take my d-200 out and see what I get with just the 50mm... fun fun! Reminds me of old film days!

A Chilly Saturday...

Well, with weeks of training behind us, I decided to put McKenna to the test. I gave her the assignment of photographing the least photogenic person I know... which is me. Her assignment was to find a way to make me look beautiful.

With her hair styling experience and her make-up artistry, we managed to pull my look together! I need her to come over and put on my make-up every day!!!

I photographed McKenna as well, and I asked her why the heck she hasn't been modeling all these years!! All the time we were taking pictures, we were freezing!!

Great Job McKenna!!! keep up the amazing work!!!
